Here are a couple coupons from Firestone. They are old coupons but are working quite nicely for people since they don’t have an expiration date.
As usual, cut them out. You went to their website and signed up for coupons and offers to be emailed to you, this coupon popped up and said “get started now with these coupons”. This was true up until a few months ago, so if they ask, just tell them you signed up to recieve coupons via email. Also, Firestone will allow you to make an appointment so you only have to wait a little while…
- Standard Oil/Filter $12.99
- Synthetic Blend Oil/Filter $14.99

David, I read the coupon and it says a synthetic blend oil.
August 24th, 2007 at 3:48 pm
I didn’t know there was such a thing. hmm
August 24th, 2007 at 8:01 pm
Yeah, a crap load of oil companies are making that stuff now.
August 26th, 2007 at 8:04 am
Yes, a blend of dino oil and man made synthetic. Of course, it’s anyones guess as to how much is synthetic, and how much is dino. Oh, and have you noticed, the only ones suggesting 3,000 oil change intervals are the people who sell oil. Everyone else says 5,000 to 7,500 miles, including Consumer Reports.

For example, my car, a non-high-end 2004 Ford Taurus actually takes a synthetic blend 5W20 (no longer the standard 10W30). It seems like this is pretty common now. Dunno exactly why though….

David,
I see fewer and fewer deals from you these days.
Are you busy or done with this?

I’m so busy lately. DT does not make much money so i’m a little in limbo… I’ve spent 2 years on this and it still doesn’t pay my car payment. lol - Any ideas?

Hello David, I was reading your comment and well I think you can do something like Wikipedia, They just put in big letters in the center of the page “Donate” and well apparently a lot of people have been donating to the website. Also, another thing you can do, which I will certainly do, is ask all of your friends and people who visit this website to add you as a “favorite website” so people who visit their web pages can come to your web page. Another idea will be to go to the fishing forums, since I know you like fishing and under your comment have your website address come up, that is how I found out about your website, through a posting you did on woot.com. Well, these are three small suggestions and I don’t know if you have done this before, but I hope this helps.

David What adds make you the most money?
maybe if you post this info we can all click it at least 10 times a day. or maybe you can put a link that will automatically open that add in a separate window. ( i know pop-ups ) but you definitely need to make something. I know i try to click on ads here.

I still come to this site for some rason… but David you need to really make the decision if you want to pull the plug on the site or keep it…. I am sure you are loosing visitors at this point because of no updates… i can only help so much… tell people to click 4-5 adds on this page that should generate some money…

With the coming and going of Black Friday and no updates on this site, so too will this link go from my favorites. I only have room for the best, and your lackadaisical attitude is loosing many other followers. Sorry, maybe your real job will appreciate your efforts.

So here’s the deal. To do this site everyday, it takes a substantial amount of time and the tiny bit I earn, just isn’t cutting it.
Amazon WAS the largest earner for DailyTool.com. I used to be able to post links to deals I would find on their site and be paid a commission if someone purchased the product. Those commissions basically paid for the site and gave me a little spending money. A couple months ago, Amazon sent me a letter and said they were only going to pay commissions on “certain” products. Each month they would upload a list of the qualifying products for me to choose from. In other words, I can only link to their highest markup crap - and not to any more good deals…
Most of the other links on the site do not earn anything to speak of. Once in a while I will find something like the Obopay Deal which earns DT about $10 per person that joins. Those make a tiny profit but they don’t come along too often.
I love to link to Buy.com because they have a ton of deals. Their commission is just 2% with a 2 day cookie (meaning if you don’t buy in 2 days, DT doesn’t get the commission). Of all the deals I posted from Buy.com, DT only earned about $200 for all of 2007. I probably linked to 500 or more of their products to earn that $200. If I spent 5 minutes on each product (searching their site or others for a good deal), that means I made about $4.75 per hour. LOL
