I’ve taken most of the morning off because I’ve been GLUED to the Hurricane Katrina coverage on television. I live in Palm Beach Florida where we had 2 hurricanes hit last year within 30 miles from my home. I really feel for these people as hurricanes are quite costly and not just monetarily.
Last year, I was without power for 9 days then 11 days during the second storm. In 92 degree heat, you realize just how important power is to us all. We cooked pasta and coffee on the grill which was interesting to say the least. There was NO meat to be found as knowone had refridgeration. It was kind of fun in an adventurous kind of way. Of course, that could have been because of all the drinking I did during the storm! LOL - I wish everyone there in New Orleans and Alabama the best and a quick recovery.
LSU Scientists took projected tracks of Hurricane Katrina on Saturday Evening and produced a frightening scenario: A wall of water surging in from all sides pushing up against the urban levees. Wave action is seen topping levees in Kenner, eastern New Orleans and along the Mississippi River - Gulf Outlet.
